Why is Web Care and SSL important for your Website

If your website was hacked, how would this impact your business?

I’m sure you have all heard about the security threats recently to websites and emails. That is some scary stuff!

We as a team have put our heads together to work hard to provide a service that helps safeguard your website from all the nasties out there.

Our Web Care provides you with:

Monthly Back Ups
If your website was fully contaminated, it would potentially cost you thousands to rebuild and weeks to get back online. With monthly back ups, using our Web Care Plan it would be FREE and be back up in a matter for hours.

Form Checks
We physically check and test your forms each month to ensure you are not losing valuable enquiries and leads.

Malware Scan
Malware and viruses can sit dormant on your site and without you evening knowing. Don’t wait until it’s too late, using Web Care Plan we run a scan over your code every month and decontaminate any infectious nasties!

Free Updates
The best way to protect your site from being attacked is to have the latest software updates. These updates usually include the anti virus fixes you need to block the latest viruses going around.

Manual Check
Out of sight, out of mind? Most companies find out that their website has been hacked from a client – which is a little embarrassing! Using a Web Care Plan it means we do a manual check over every page on your site every month and fix anything that’s not quite right while we are there, at no extra charge.

In addition to this, it is important that your customers feel safe while using your website. We now offer SSL certificates for all of our clients to make sure that your website is not only kept secure in the background but it is also labelled secure by Google.

What is SSL?

SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. Essentially, SSL establishes an encrypted link between your web server and your visitor’s web browser. This ensures that all data passed between the two remains private and secure. This decreases the chance of malicious behaviour on your site and the internet as a whole.

With an unsecured HTTP connection, third-parties can snoop on any traffic passing between your reader’s browser and your web server. Obviously, this is a huge issue if you have an e-commerce website and are passing sensitive information like credit card numbers etc.

Google is now penalising sites without an SSL Certificate by pushing them down in Google Search.

All SSL certificates are renewed yearly and cost you $199+GST per annum per website.
